| Allows you to determine the data transmission speed between your Internet- or intranet-connected computer and a remote host. The program can be a good replacement for Ping, the standard console utility included with Windows. It displays the number of requests sent and returned, as well as the highest, lowest, and average time needed for requests to be returned; lets you ping more than one host at the same time; and enables you to set up an inclusive ping protocol, which can include the ping start and finish times, remote host stop and resume times, and any errors. Ping Monitor can also ping the remote host following a specified time interval to reduce the overall network traffic. The program can run as a convenient icon in the System Tray area of the Windows taskbar. |
